STMA is creating a series of aircraft owned by the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum. These X-Plane models will be flown by visitors on their custom built simulators

Here is what Norm LaGasse, museum executive director, has to say about our O-1 Bird Dog on skis which is currently in use on their simulator: "Ole Dog on skis is a hit with the visitors. They really enjoy the the challenge of trying to land her on the mountain glaciers." He is anticipating even more excitement when they can fly their own aircraft on simular exciting adventures.

This is an updated replica of a 1975 Cessna C-185E Skywagon which is one of the real workhorses of the Alaskan Bush. It was created from the aircraft Pilot Operating Handbook (POH) and Type Certificate Data Sheet (TCDS) and is as accurate a model as X-Plane permits.

The GoodWay Compatible model features:
  • Transparent windows, detailed fully animated 3D cockpit & realistic custom instrument panel by master craftsman Peter Fischer.
  • Working cockpit doors. See the readme.txt file for instructions on how to use this feature.

  • Airframe and flight model are as close to authentic as X-Plane´s recent advancements allow. Speed, handling and "the numbers" are very close to the real airplane.
