This is the V8.60 update of the Piper T-1040 which is the “airliner” version of Piper´s
popular Navajo Chieftain modified with Cheyenne IA wings and P&W PT6 turboprop engines. It
was “ruggedized” for the hard life the airplane was expected to encounter in commuter airline
service. You may see some version with wingtip fuel tanks, like the Cheyenne, but most
airplanes used in commuter airline service did not have them and that´s the way we
chose to model it. This airplane was originally created for the Medallion Foundation of
Anchorage, Alaska for use on their aircraft safety flight simulators and has been
flight-tested by their staff and by pilots flying the T-1040 on a daily basis.
The GoodWay Compatible Model features:
- Transparent windows and detailed, fully animated 3D cockpit & instrument panel!
- A realistic instrument panel with accurately positioned gauges designed
specifically for the T-1040 by master artist Peter Fischer.
- Realistic landing gear struts, exhaust stacks and windshield wipers.
- Animated entry door and steps.
- Very realistic pilot and passengers created by Roger That. CA´s Bob Feaver.
- Airframe, flight model, speeds, performance and handling as close to realistic
as X-Plane´s recent advances permit.
- Operational tips, the actual pilot checklist in text format, and a selection of
performance charts extracted from the airplane Approved Flight Manual in JPG format.
NOTE: Please make sure you thoroughly read and understand the readme.txt that accompanies the model before flying it.
